The Davison County Commission on Tuesday voted to purchase a new vote-counting machine. The cost of the machine is 108,000 dollars – the county will spend 72,000 dollars. The other 36,000 dollars will be covered by a grant. It will be purchased from Election Systems and Software of Omaha, the same company who made the county’s current machine. There was some controversy surrounding the machine during the June 2012 election, when it was blamed for inaccurate vote counts. A task force subsequently deemed the machine accurate. The new vote-counting machine will be used for this June’s election.
Dave Chappelle, Marlee Matlin, and Scott Caan are among the celebs celebrating this weekend.
