Dakota Wesleyan University President Amy Novak has announced that the university has raised $10 million toward a new health and wellness center, as well as renovation of an existing athletic facility.  Groundbreaking is expected to occur in September.

The $15 million project will be done in two phases.  The first phase will include construction of a 90,000 square foot facility on two levels including a 200-meter running and walking indoor track, three indoor multipurpose sport courts, locker rooms, 7,000 square feet of wellness space which will contain cardiovascular equipment, weights and fitness training, a wrestling room, and classroom space.  The second phase will include renovations to the existing Christen Family Athletic Center.  Upgrades to heating and cooling units, expansion of the weight room, expansion of athletic training space and office space will be done.

The new facility will be located on the south side of Norway Avenue.
