Wednesday was the deadline for applications for an upcoming vacancy on the Mitchell School Board. Mitchell Schools Superintendent Joe Graves says five applications were submitted. Lacey Musick, Kevin Kenkel, Steve Sibson, Dana Price, and Mark Bernard all applied for the seat. The school board has the option of making a selection based on the applications or requesting interviews with all of the applicants before choosing. The seat is being vacated by Rick Johnson, who suffered a stroke last December.
DE Frank Alexander, who missed the first four games of this season due to a previous violation of the policy, won't return until mid-December.
A four-hit shutout by Madison Bumgarner and a grand slam by Brandon Crawford carried the Giants to an 8-0 win.
