MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — KMIT and Kool 98.3 will host their annual Salvation Army Angel Tree Radiothon on Thursday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 5. The two-day event raises funds and collects gifts to help fulfill Christmas wishes for children in need throughout the Mitchell area.

Listeners can call in pledges during the Radiothon at 605-996-9667. Donations support local families and ensure children receive gifts during the holiday season.

Angel Trees are also set up at 11 Mitchell locations: The Highland Mall, Avera Grasslands, Coborn’s, Shoe Sensation, Kelly Gross Insurance, Anytime Fitness, Mitchell Tech, Patzer Woodworking, 281 Meats, Walmart, and the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Community members can select a child’s tag, purchase a gift, and return it—tag attached—to any Angel Tree location.

The Salvation Army is additionally seeking volunteer bell ringers for its red kettle sites. Residents can sign up for a two-hour shift at registertoring.com.
