PowerBall Ticket Rules


All persons who text the word ‘lottery’ to KMIT and ‘lotto’ to KOOL-98 prior to midnight on August 6th, shall be eligible for the contest. Twenty names will be selected at random to equally share in any winnings of the Powerball numbers drawn on the evening of August 7th if the total winning amount is $100 or more. No payment will be made on lesser amounts. The official winner of any proceeds shall be the legal owner of the phone number from which the text was received, regardless of the name entered into the contest. Proof of proper name will be required to claim any prizes.

A copy of the potential winning Powerball lottery numbers will be posted on the KMIT and KOOL-98 websites prior to the drawing. A list of the 20 submitted names selected by random drawing and eligible to win in this contest will also be posted on the websites prior to the drawing. KMIT and KOOL-98 shall retain ten percent of all winnings as an administrative fee.

Winners must be at least 18 years of age. A list of winners, if any, shall be posted on the KMIT and KOOL-98 websites within 30 days of the drawing. Winners will be required to contact radio stations within 30 days after posting to be eligible to claim winnings. Radio stations reserve all rights in collecting winning jackpot amounts.

Individual winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with lottery winnings. Employees of KMIT and KOOL-98 radio are not eligible to win.

All winnings are subject to verification of winning ticket by the South Dakota Lottery.

Stations are not responsible for posting of incorrect ticket numbers.
