The online rules must contain the information noted below.

  1. How to enter and participate? Explain in detail:
Beginning Monday, February 10, 2025, thru Friday, February 28, 2025, KOOL-98.3 and KMIT will give listeners the chance to “Live Free for the month of February!”

Listeners can qualify by calling into any of the qualifying on-air contests.  There will be three (3) contests on each station each weekday during the promotion period.  Contesting will include announcing a “winning word of the hour” early in the designated contest hour.  Later in that same hour, the announcer will ask for that hour’s winning word.  The first caller with the correct winning word is qualified.  Contesting hours will be between 6 am and 6 pm CST.

Listeners must call the contest line at (605) 996-1100 or (605) 996-1751 and provide the announcer with the winning word of the hour.” Any entry on behalf of another person or using another person’s name or phone number is disqualified and ineligible to win any prize. Listeners may only qualify one (1) time throughout the duration of the qualifying period.  KOOL-98.3 qualifiers are ineligible to qualify on KMIT, and vise versa.

KOOL-98.3 and KMIT is not responsible for any difficulties contacting KOOL-98.3 and KMIT or entering the Contest, any malfunctions or errors, whether technical or typographical or human error, experienced due to overload, internet availability or texting server issues. KOOL-98.3 and KMIT does not guarantee, and shall not be responsible for, the delivery or timeliness of any electronic entry.

KOOL-98.3 and KMIT contests are open to all South Dakotan’s 21 or older who have not won anything on KOOL-98.3 or KMIT in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

KOOL-98.3, KMIT, Mitchell Radio Group, Saga Communications of South Dakota, LLC, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Mitchell Radio Group main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

Exactly what is the prize and prize value (usually retail).

The grand prize consists of up to $700 toward rent/mortgage, and payment of heat and electric bills up to $250 total.
  1. Basis for valuation of the prizes

As noted above, usually retail. If airline, hotel with costs to be determined, then “approximate retail.”

Prizes are approximate market value.

 

  1. Time and means of selection of winner (and/or tie breaking procedures)

Winner will be chosen on:

Winner will be chosen by random selection from all qualifiers from the KOOL-98.3 and KMIT qualifiers’ lists.

Employees of (station), (radio group name), and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the (station) main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

Note: 18 is the default age.  You can allow younger participants but it must be stated.  If an alcohol sponsor is involved, then age must be changed to 21 or older.

No purchase necessary. Prize is not redeemable or transferable for cash.

Announcements:  The online rules must include all 8 material terms (See Note 1 (b) to the Contest Rule – Appendix).  Announce over the air periodically the availability of material contest terms on the Web site and identify the Web site address where the terms are posted with information sufficient for a consumer to find such terms easily.  Any changes to the material terms during the course of the contest must be fully disclosed on air within 24 hours following  the change on the Web site and periodically thereafter or the fact that such changes have been made must be announced on air within 24 hours of the change, and periodically thereafter, and such announcements must direct participants to the written disclosures on the Web site. Material contest terms that are disclosed on an Internet Web site must be consistent in all substantive respects with those mentioned over the air.

KOOL-98.3/KMIT is giving you a chance to “Live Free for the Month of February!”

The winner must submit paid rent/mortgage and utility statements for reimbursement.  The grand prize is limited to reimbursement. If the winner’s rent/mortgage is less than  $700 and/or winner’s electricity and heat bills are less than $250, the winner will not receive any additional amount beyond what they owe, have paid and submit for reimbursement.  Reimbursement will be in the form of a check issued by Mitchell Radio Group/Saga Communications to the winning individual.

Winner is responsible for any applicable taxes. Full rules may be reviewed at www.kool98.com or www.kmit.com.

The winner will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail on March 3, 2025.  We will make all reasonable efforts to award the prize within 30 days of winning.
