STURGIS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Attorney General Marty Jackley is sharing new details about two state agents now trained to work directly with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The DCI agents, one stationed in the east and the other in the west, completed federal training last month. They’ll assist with violent crime and drug trafficking investigations and have the authority to recommend certain suspects for deportation. Jackley says their presence during events like the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally means local law enforcement won’t have to wait on federal agents. Whether suspects are deported or serve time in state custody will depend on the nature of the crime and input from victims. For more crime stories from MitchellNow.com, click here.
