MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A new chapter in Mitchell’s housing landscape began this week with the groundbreaking of the Peaceful Pines Senior Living Center at 350 North Harmon Drive yesterday. According to the Mitchell Republic, the 55-unit, $15 million complex will rise on 4.6 acres overlooking Lake Mitchell, part of a 25-acre lakeshore project. Backed mostly by local investors, the center is expected to create 30 jobs and generate $1.5 million in payroll. Developers and city leaders thanked the community and Mayor Jordan Hanson for supporting the project—one designed to meet the city’s growing senior housing needs while freeing up homes for other Mitchell residents.
