Ivan Wayne Schrader, age 91, of Mitchell, SD died September 1, 2021 at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday September 6, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Ivan Wayne Schrader, one of seventeen children was born June 16, 1930 to Emanuel and Beaulah (Bennet) Schrader. He attended Spotted Tail School in Jamison, NE through the eighth grade. After his schooling he helped on the family farm.

He entered the US Army on February 27, 1952 and served in Germany he was honorably discharged on February 16, 1954.

He was united in marriage with Mary Sell of Keyupaha, SD on June 1, 1951 in Winner, SD. The couple had five children. Ivan work on a ranch and then maintenance work with Life Quest and retired in May 1996. Ivan enjoyed yardwork and reading the newspaper. His greatest pleasures were his family and grandchildren. Ivan and Mary were members of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 62 years, Mary; Brenda (Leroy) Polreis, Mitchell, SD, Sandra Schrader, Armour, SD, Roger (Angie) Schrader, Sioux Falls, SD, Kelly (Barb) Schrader, Harrisburg, SD, Doug (Patty) Schrader, Omaha, NE; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three brothers, Daniel Schrader, Stephen Schrader, Duane Schrader all of Jamison, NE; three sisters, Delores Novotny, Winner, SD, Carol Feyereisen, Iona, SD, Geraldine Feyereisen, Gregory, SD; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents; six brothers, Orval Schrader, Orlin Schrader, Harlin Schrader, Dale Schrader, Roger Schrader, Luverne Schrader; and three sisters, Virginia Frank, Iona Bell Schrader and Thellma Sell.
