Longfellow Elementary Students Raise $17,212, Douse Mitchell Mayor in Paint Celebration

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Longfellow Elementary students in Mitchell celebrated raising $17,212 in their annual raffle fundraiser by spraying teachers and Mayor Jordan Hanson with watercolor paint Thursday. Second-grader Stella Hebron, the top seller at $893, capped the event by dumping a bucket of paint on Hanson’s head. The proceeds benefit the school’s parent-teacher organization.
