Mitchell announces adjusted garbage and recycling schedule for Thanksgiving holiday

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The City of Mitchell has announced changes to its garbage and recycling schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Because of the holiday, there will be no Thursday collection. Instead, both Wednesday and Thursday garbage and recycling routes will be collected on Wednesday. Friday’s pickup will run on its normal schedule.

City officials also noted that the Regional Landfill will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2024, in observance of the holiday.

Residents are reminded that collection times may vary, and the schedule is subject to change if inclement weather affects operations.
