MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council will hold a public hearing tonight, on a $3.93 million utility project along North Ohlman Street between West 23rd and Kemper Avenues. Officials say the project includes replacing water and sewer lines, adding curb and gutter, and installing a roundabout at the West 23rd intersection. The city plans to finance the work through a 30-year State Revolving Fund loan at 4 percent interest, repaid through sewer fees on utility bills. According to the Mitchell Republic, Public Works Director Joe Schroeder said that rate increases are already planned through 2027, with no new hikes proposed.
