Friend De Coup claimed Grand Champion, Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and Daytime Champion awards at the 22nd Annual Best of Show Show Choir Invitational at Sioux Falls Washington High School on February 12.
Twelve high school choirs from Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska competed in unisex, prep, and mixed class divisions for the daytime, caption, and championship awards.
Thirteen middle school choirs, including our very own Mitchell Middle School show choirs, competed in the middle school division on Friday, February 11. Exclamation received Best Closer and Maximum Velocity received Best Choreography.
Other finalists in the high school competition in order of placement were first runner up, best band, people’s choice and best soloist Choralation from Valley High School, West Des Moines, IA; second runner up and best crew, Executive Suite from Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School, Sioux Falls, SD; third runner up Eagle Express from Aberdeen Central High School, Aberdeen, SD; fourth runner up Legacy from Sioux Falls Jefferson High School, Sioux Falls, SD; and fifth runner up RUSH from Ralston High School, Ralston, NE.
