Mitchell Main Street BID Expands Funds for Business Facade Upgrades

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Mitchell’s Main Street Business Improvement District is putting more money into helping businesses upgrade their exteriors. The BID No. 3 Board approved its 2026 budget this week, setting aside $74,000 for storefront improvements, about 70% of the district’s funds. One grant of $8,800 was awarded for brickwork and painting at a Main Street property, while more applications are expected in 2026. Since its creation, the BID has funded $144,000 in business upgrades and $149,000 in streetscape projects. Applications for next year’s grant cycle are open January 1st.
