Addie Siemsen, a senior at Mitchell High School, has been awarded the All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award by the National Strength & Conditioning Association. This program recognizes those collegiate and high school athletes whose athletic accomplishments reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning. It sees the dedication and determination to improve while maintaining academic prominence and being a great role model for all student athletes.

Addie participates in Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Field, and has been in Avera Sports Strength & Conditioning program since 2022. Addie is one of 29 athletes selected in the multi-sport division and 1-of-9 girls in the multi-sport division that has three or more sports.

She was nominated by James Dougherty, CSCS|RSCC, the Avera Queen of Peace region’s Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at Avera Sports – Mitchell.

“Addie has had an exceptional athletic career, excelling as a three-sport athlete where she has received numerous accolades, including all-conference, all-state and all-tournament honors in all three sports, while lettering four or more years in each sport,” said Dougherty. “That same championship mentality carries into the weight room. Addie maintains a year-round presence in the weight room, demonstrating consistent dedication to strength, preparation, and performance. While dedicated to her own improvement, Addie consistently placed team success above individual focus, supporting her teammates on the court, field or in the weight room.”
