Mitchell Students Honored for Blue Ribbon Wins at 2025 South Dakota State Fair

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) At the Mitchell Board of Education meeting Tuesday night they took time to celebrate local student achievement, as dozens of Mitchell students were recognized for earning blue ribbons at the 2025 South Dakota State Fair. According to the Mitchell Republic, art teacher Marica Shannon announced that Mitchell High School placed second overall for its artwork, while Mitchell Middle School earned first place and an additional writing award. Students accepted their ribbons and posed for photos as teachers showcased their winning pieces. Board President Britti Flood called it one of her favorite nights of the year, praising students’ creativity and the dedication of their teachers.
