STURGIS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A South Dakota nonprofit is expanding its fight against opioid overdoses by installing naloxone distribution boxes statewide. Since May of last year, Emily’s Hope has placed the kits containing naloxone, gloves, and recovery resources in public locations from Sioux Falls to Rapid City, the Pine Ridge Reservation, and now Sturgis. Partner organizations, including Action for the Betterment of our Community, say the initiative aids both major events like the Sturgis Rally and smaller communities battling overdose risks year-round.
