PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Governor Larry Rhoden says South Dakota is investing in its future workforce with a record 630 Build Dakota Scholarships this year. The full-ride awards go to students training for high-demand jobs in healthcare, construction, law enforcement, and more. In return, they’ll live and work in the state for at least three years. Since 2015, more than 4,500 students have received Build Dakota Scholarships. Leaders say it helps students land good careers while keeping South Dakota’s economy strong.
