PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The South Dakota Legislature is seeking 22 college and university students to serve as interns during the 2026 legislative session, which begins January 13. The program offers students from all majors and class years a paid, hands-on experience in state government, including assisting lawmakers, attending committee hearings, and participating in caucus meetings. Interns earn $185 per day, totaling about $7,200 for the full session, and may also receive college credit.
