SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) An 8th Grader has made his case for safety gear at football practice. Edison Middle School student Grant Hohn told Sioux Falls school board members Monday night he was recently blocked from wearing a Guardian Cap, a protective shield that goes over a helmet. Grant’s father David also spoke to the board, saying the coach’s claim the Guardian Cap could void the helmet warranty doesn’t hold up. Guardian caps are mandatory for practices in the NFL, which has reported a 50-percent drop in concussions since going to the cap. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
