Mitchell Golf

The Kernel boys golf team had another strong outing competing in the Huron Invite. They finished tied for second as a team with a total of 15 over par. Mitchell finished with four athletes in the Top 15. Dawson Adams tied for 14th place at five over par and 77 total, Everett Morrison & Carter McCormick tied for eighth at four over par and 76 total while Asher Dannenbring tied for second place at two over par and 74 total.

Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball team begins their season this evening. They will be at home taking on Sturgis at 5pm in the Mitchell high school main gym.

Mitchell Football

The Kernel football team gets their season rolling tonight. They will travel out west to Box Elder to face the Douglas Patriots. The game will begin at 6pm MT/7pm CT.

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel girls tennis team will be competing again tomorrow on the road throughout the day. They’ll compete in a Varsity Invitational at Rapid City for the Rapid City Invite in Sioux Park.

Mitchell Soccer

The Kernel soccer teams will both be in action tomorrow in Mitchell. It will start with the boys playing at 11am and girls playing after at 1pm. Both teams will face Brookings at Joe Quintal Field.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team is set to play today on the road. They will have a pair of games on tap this morning/afternoon. First, they will face No. 8 IU Kokomo at 10am & No. 2 Bellevue (NE) at 2pm. Both games will be played at Lied Fitness Center in Omaha, NE.

DWU Football

The Tiger football team gets their season going tomorrow evening when they host the Chamber of Commerce Traveling Trophy game in Mitchell. They will face the Dakota State Trojans at Joe Quintal Field at 7pm.

SDSU Football

The Jackrabbit football kicks their season off tomorrow in the Precision Ag Bowl. It will be played at Dana J. Dykhouse in Brookings against Sacramento State. The game is set to begin at 6pm.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins return to the field tonight after a quick day off. The Twins sit at 60-73 overall and 4th in the AL Central. After dropping six of their last eight games. They will be hosting the San Diego Padres at 7:10pm in Minneapolis.

WNBA

The Minnesota Lynx battled with the Seattle Storm last night at home. It was a tough night for Minnesota allowing a game-high 23 points from Skylar Diggins and a win from Seattle, 93-79. The Lynx will get a chance to be back in the win column tomorrow night when they travel to play the Sun in Connecticut at 6pm on NBATV.
