Sports Roundup: Thursday 9/25/25

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel girls tennis team will be on the road again this afternoon. They will travel to Huron to compete in a Varsity Dual at the Huron Courts at Huron high school at 4pm.

Mitchell Soccer

The Kernel soccer teams will be home tonight for their Senior night at Joe Quintal Field. They will be facing Pierre, and the girls will play first at 4pm and the boys will play at 6pm

Mitchell Football

The Kernel football team will be at home tomorrow for week five action. They will host the Tea Area Titans for Homecoming here in Mitchell. The game will begin at 7pm and be played at Joe Quintal Field.

DWU Soccer

The Tiger soccer teams both saw action last night at home here in Mitchell. The men played first and got themselves a shutout victory over Dordt, 2-0. They now sit at 4-5 overall. The women played after and had a tough game against the Defenders. So tough that no team ended up scoring a goal in the matchup and it ended in a 0-0 tie. They now sit at 1-2-5 overall.

DWU Volleyball

The No. 24 Tiger volleyball team hit the road last night to take on the Morningside Mustangs. They managed to take down the Mustangs, 3-1. DWU now sits at 9-6 overall.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins faced the Texas Rangers again last night. Though Texas lost an additional player in Wyatt Langford, they still gave the Twins some trouble. The Rangers actually managed to get the win in this game by a score of 4-2. These teams will play again this afternoon at 1:35pm.

WNBA

The WNBA Semifinals continue with a pair of Game 3’s tomorrow night. You’ll have the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever hosting the No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces on ESPN2 with the series tied 1-1. The No. 4 seed Phoenix Mercury will host the No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx also on ESPN2 with the series tied 1-1.

NFL

Tonight is Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. It will be the Seattle Seahawks at the Arizona Cardinals at 7:15pm at State Farm Stadium.
