Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball teams are in action today. They will host Sioux Falls Jefferson at the MHS gyms with JV and freshman playing at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 6:30pm.

DWU Golf

The Tiger women’s golf team has some initial results in The Statesman competition day one. They are currently in third place going into day two with a trio of players in the Top 25. Sara Sudenga sits tied for 23rd at 20 over par and both Ashton Austreim and Allison Meyerink are tied for fourth at eight over par. DWU continues day two action this morning at TPC Deere Run. Tee time is listed as TBA on the DWU website.

DWU Soccer

The Tiger soccer teams are both on the road tomorrow and headed to Forest City, Iowa. They will take on the Waldorf Warriors on Bolstorff Field with the men playing first at 5pm and the women playing at 7:30pm.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team remains at home tomorrow night. They will be in the Christen Athletic Center hosting Morningside at 7:30pm here in Mitchell.

MLB

The Championship Series continued with a pair of games last night. It was Game 2 with the No. 2 seed Seattle Mariners at the No. 1 seed Toronto Blue Jays and the Mariners extended their series lead to 2-0 after a decisive 10-3 win. You also had Game 1 between the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers and the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Brewers. It didn’t feature much scoring, but it still ended up being a win for the Dodgers, 2-1 and they lead the series 1-0. The Dodgers and Brewers will have their Game 2 tonight at 7:08pm on TBS/TruTV/MAX.

NFL

Monday Night Football went down last night to round out week 6 in the NFL. You had the Buffalo Bills at the Atlanta Falcons and the Chicago Bears at the Washington Commanders. A career night from Bijan Robinson, where he posted 170 rushing yards, helped Atlanta get themselves a 24-14 win over Buffalo. And the Commanders lost on a last second field goal to the Bears, 25-24.
