Mitchell Golf

The Kernel boys golf team closed out their play in the East/West Invite at the Meadowbrook Golf Course yesterday against Rapid City. Results from yesterday include a Top 5 placement for Mitchell overall. They finish in fourth with a 39 over par score and 615 total, including three players in the Top 20. Everett Morrison finished in 17th place with a 10 over par total score, Carter McCormick claimed eighth place with a six over par score and Asher Dannenbring earned fourth place and finished at even par. McCormick & Dannenbring had an outstanding day two with one of the best scores as they tied for second best score with a 69, good for three under par.

Mitchell Soccer

The Kernel girls soccer team have started their season off strong. They got themselves another win yesterday afternoon when they defeated Sioux Falls Christian, 3-1. So far in their first two games, they’re outscoring opponents 7-1. Mitchell begins their season, 2-0. They will play again this Friday against Rapid City Stevens.

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel girls tennis team will get set to play tomorrow afternoon. They will be on the road in Harrisburg taking on the Tigers. It will be a Varsity Dual and begin at 4pm at Harrisburg High School.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics faced off yesterday and got their series going. It was the Athletics who got the win by a score of 6-3. Shea Langeliers hit his 27th home run and Tyler Soderstrom extended his hitting streak to 17 games as Oakland beat Minnesota. The two teams play again tonight at 6:40pm.

WNBA

The Minnesota Lynx faced the New York Liberty last night and were looking for a season series sweep, but that did not happen. It was the Liberty who emerged victorious in the game, 85-75. Jonquel Jones led New York with a 22-point & 10-rebound double-double while Courtney Williams led Minnesota in scoring with 17 points.
