Mitchell Golf
The Kernel boys golf team competed in a Varsity Invitational at Pierre Hillsview Golf Course yesterday. Mitchell finished in third place as a team at nine over par and a 297 total score. Individually, three athletes made the Top 15. Carter McCormick finished 15th at three over par and a 75 score, Asher Dannenbring ended in at 12th place at one over par and a 73 score and Everett Morrison took first place in the PHS Invite with a three under par and 69 score. The boys will compete again tomorrow in an Invitational in Huron at 10am.
Mitchell Tennis
The Kernel girls tennis team will be competing tomorrow on the road throughout the day. They will be playing in a Varsity Invitational at Rapid City for the Rapid City Invite in Sioux Park.
Mitchell Cross Country
The Kernel cross country team is set to compete today at home. They’ll take on various schools in the Mitchell Invite taking place at Wild Oak Golf Course beginning at 4pm.
DWU Soccer
The Tiger men’s soccer team took on St. Ambrose (IA) on the road yesterday afternoon. It ended up being another tough day for the Tiger men as they fell by a score of 2-1.
DWU Golf
The Tiger men’s golf team had a strong outing over the last two days in the Mount Marty Invitational. DWU ended up finishing in fourth place as a team at 24 over par and a total score of 600. A pair of stars emerged for the Tigers as Dakota Munger finished in second place with an even par score and 144 score and Connor Calahan claimed first place with a three under par finish and a 141 total score.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays dukes it out yesterday and it was the Twins who came out on top. Minnesota won by a score of 7-5 behind Mickey Gasper’s game-tying home run in the ninth inning, along with Matt Wallner’s homer as the Twins rallied for this win after trailing 4-0 through five innings. The two teams will play again tonight at 6:07pm.
WNBA
The Minnesota Lynx get back to the court tomorrow night. They return home to host the Seattle Storm at 7pm on WNBA League Pass. Minnesota remains as the best team in the WNBA with a record of 30-7.
