MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Two women have been sentenced in federal court for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. Catherine Hamilton, of Mitchell, received 57 months in prison, while Christine Hughes, of North Jackson, Ohio, was sentenced to 37 months. Both will also serve three years of supervised release. Court records show Hughes mailed multiple packages of meth from Ohio to Hamilton, who then distributed the drugs in South Dakota. The investigation involved the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Mitchell Police Department.
