Saturday’s Boys SoDak16 Basketball Games

Class AA:

  • No. 14 seed Pierre T.F. Riggs @ No. 3 Huron at 6pm

Mitchell

The Kernel boys basketball team plays in their SoDak16 games on Saturday. The No. 12 seed Kernel boys will travel to Watertown to face the No. 5 seed Arrows at 6pm. If they win, they’ll travel to Rapid City, SD next weekend to play in the Class AA State Tournament from March 19-21.

The Marlins girls hockey has a busy weekend on the ice as competition continues into Saturday. They’re competing in their Varsity State Tournament right here in Mitchell, SD. Games are still being played in the Mitchell Activities Center.

DWU

The Tiger softball team, just like the baseball team remain in Tucson, AZ for the Tucson Invitational action this weekend. Saturday they’ll have another pair of games as they will first take on Arizona Christian (AZ) at Noon and then afterwards face Indiana Tech at 2:30pm with both games on Lincoln Park – Field 5. Sunday they’ll play two more games as they battle with Carroll (MT) at Noon on Lincoln Park – Field 8 and then Valley City State at 2pm on Lincoln Park – Field 7.

The Tiger baseball team remains in Tucson Invitational game action as well. For a third straight day, they’ll face Division II Southwest Minnesota State, and first pitch Saturday is at 11am on the Kino Sports Complex – Field 7. Then they’ll play again on Sunday when they face Carthage at 1pm on the Kino Sports Complex – Field 4.

The (RV) Tiger men’s wrestling team continues on in the NAIA National Championships Saturday for their final day of competition. Wrestlers Jagger Tyler, Kipp Cordes and Teagan Foreman will get started again this Saturday morning at 11am at the Heartland Credit Union Arena.

The No. 9 Tiger women’s basketball team prepares now for the 45th Annual NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament. Thursday, it was made known that DWU is a No. 2 seed in the National Tournament. In the opening round, they will face No. 15 St. Francis (Ill) at 6pm on March 13 in the World’s Only Corn Palace where first and second round games are being hosted this year for the women. If they win, they’ll face the winner of No. 7 seed Eastern Oregon and No. 10 seed College of the Ozarks (MO) at 6pm on March 14. If they advance out of the second round, they will travel over to Sioux City, IA beginning March 19 to play the rest of the tournament with games all played in the Tyson Events Center.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team will compete in the Quarterfinals of the Summit League Championship Tournament at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday afternoon. They will face No. 3 seed South Dakota. It’ll begin at approximately 2:30pm on the Summit League Network/Midco Sports.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves are playing basketball this Saturday. They’ll remain at home in the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN to host the Orlando Magic. Tipoff is set for 2pm and will air on Prime Video.
